In my time spent in the halls of Grady College of Journalism on University of Georgia’s campus, I had the satisfaction of working with many smart classmates. Before I could graduate with a certificate in New Media, I had to finish the program’s required group capstone project. Our group initially was given an Amazon Echo Show, a new gadget at the time, to use for our project. Unfortunately Jeff Bezos threw a few obstacles in our way, and we were forced to pivot to a new project with half the time to finish.
Since a few of us in the group were involved with the university radio station, WUOG, we decided to create an app for the station. We wanted to give the option to listeners to use their iPhones to listen to the station instead of just by FM waves. The station had the resources to go digital, but no one had put in the to work to get it on a smart phone. Above is our capstone project for WUOG where we successfully created a working radio station app for all of Athens.
